Project

Identifying Sensor Malfunctions and Unknown Unsafe Hazards
Development of scenarios for identifying the limitations of perception and decision-making capabilities of autonomous driving sensors to prevent accidents caused by perception performance limitations, misjudgments, or driver behavior. These scenarios also facilitate hazard analysis and safety assurance technologies and evaluations.
The Challenge
Generation of Atypical Scenarios
Planning scenarios for various variables such as sudden pedestrian appearances and sensor malfunctions.
Scenario Inclusiveness
Reflecting environmental diversity (weather, lighting, road conditions), traffic complexity, surrounding vehicles, and traffic volume.
Environments for Reproducing Test Scenarios
Simulation environments that implement the settings and components appearing in scenarios (e.g., pedestrians, vehicles, obstacles):
Why MORAI Scenario
01
Provides all necessary elements for atypical scenario creation.
02
Enables simulation of created scenarios across various digital twin maps without additional work.
03
Supports large-scale simulation tests through test automation and cloud simulation.
What are the benefits of MORAI’s Scenario
01
Scenario Library
Pre-built scenarios and components for various vehicles and terrains, including NCAP, Trucking, Mining (Offroad), and Food Delivery Robots, allowing extensive scenario development.
02
Sensor Malfunction Scenarios
Supports scenarios addressing unexpected situations caused by sensor contamination (e.g., dust, rain, fog) affecting cameras and LiDAR.
High-fidelity simulation data can be obtained through co-simulation with MORAI Drive Simulator and Ansys AVxcelerate Sensor.
03
Automated Scenario Set Generation
Automatically creates scenario sets by varying parameters such as vehicle speed, weather, time, and environmental conditions based on predefined scenarios.
Utilizes ASAM OpenSCENARIO standard parameters.
04
MORAI Scenario Runner
Visualizes HD Maps and OpenSCENARIO, enabling scenario editing and creation. It also supports the configuration and editing of test suites and provides batch simulation functionality.
