Autonomous Driving Challenge

MORAI, in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Naver Cloud, Naver Labs, and the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, hosted an autonomous driving competition at the Afreeca Colosseum in Sangam, the hub of e-sports.
Competition Overview
The 20 finalist teams performed autonomous driving missions in a digital twin of the Sangam-dong area, including high-speed driving, obeying speed limits, following traffic signals, and responding to unexpected situations.

Why MORAI Training and Competitions

Objectives :

To contribute to the advancement of autonomous driving technology, a key driver of future mobility.

Expected Outcomes:

Participants applied and evaluated their self-developed autonomous driving algorithms, gaining practical experience beyond theoretical learning.

Through the competition, companies gain an opportunity to identify top talent early and potentially connect it to future hiring opportunities.

Competition Results:

Over 100 university students participated, with 24 teams advancing to the finals.

More than 15 universities across South Korea took part,
including Gachon University, Kwangwoon University, Kookmin University, Dankook University, Dongguk University, Sungkyunkwan University, Yeungnam University, University of Ulsan, Inha University, Chung-Ang University, Chungbuk National University, Korea National University of Transportation, and Hongik University.

Participants came from a wide range of academic disciplines, including automotive engineering, aerospace, robotics, and marine engineering.
Notable majors included future mobility, aerospace, information and communication technology, mechanical engineering, AI robotics, electronic engineering, robotics, automotive IT convergence, mechanical robotics energy, energy systems, computer engineering, shipbuilding and marine engineering, autonomous navigation systems engineering, and smart car collaboration.

This competition served as a platform for students to showcase their expertise in autonomous driving and mobility technologies, providing them with an opportunity to develop innovative ideas and technological solutions for the future mobility industry.
