Seoul, South Korea – October 25, 2024 – MORAI, a leader in autonomous vehicle simulation platforms and digital twin technology, today announced its membership in the International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS). The agreement was signed in Seoul by MORAI’s co-founder and CTO Jun Hong and IAMTS founder and Managing Director Prof. Dr. Joachim Taiber. For both partners, this collaboration represents a strategic step toward developing standardized global frameworks for testing and validating autonomous systems.

IAMTS welcomes MORAI as a new member to support its efforts to digitalize an AI-enabled vehicle safety assessment. With MORAI’s expertise in AI-based simulation technology and digital twins, IAMTS is ready to expand its efforts in creating virtual environments for testing autonomous mobility systems, contributing to the safe, efficient deployment of autonomous technologies across the world.

Prof. Dr. Joachim Taiber, founder and Managing Director of IAMTS, emphasized the importance of the collaboration: “The mobility world is moving into a new era where AI-enabled virtual product and process development tools increase productivity and shorten time to market but at the same time making compliance of regulatory complexity more manageable – in particular where manual driving is being replaced by automated driving. We truly look forward to welcome MORAI at IAMTS and make their knowledge and expertise in simulation of multi modal automated mobility systems accessible to a wider stakeholder community which can drive innovation as well as standardization in safe transportation.”

MORAI specializes in simulation platforms that verify the safety and reliability of autonomous systems such as automotive, UAV, offroad, maritime and robotics. MORAI’s AI-enabled simulation platform provides comprehensive digital twin environments that precisely replicate real-world conditions for testing autonomous mobility systems. By joining IAMTS, MORAI aims to accelerate the development of standardized testing frameworks that will shape the future of autonomous mobility technology.

Jun Hong, co-founder and CTO of MORAI, expressed enthusiasm about the membership, saying, “We are thrilled to become part of IAMTS. As a company at the forefront of advancing autonomous driving simulation, this membership gives us the opportunity to collaborate with global industry leaders and contribute to the development of innovative testing methodologies. Together, we are working to establish the global standards that will ensure the safe and reliable deployment of autonomous systems worldwide.”

Advancing the Future of Mobility

The collaboration between MORAI and IAMTS reflects a shared vision to establish global standards for testing autonomous vehicles and autonomous mobility systems.

Together, the two organizations will work to create standardized processes that support the safe and efficient deployment of these systems, benefiting both industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies worldwide. MORAI’s digital twin technology and simulation platform will be instrumental in advancing innovative testing methodologies and ensuring that autonomous vehicles can be deployed safely and at scale.

This partnership comes at a critical time as the autonomous mobility industry rapidly evolves. Both MORAI and IAMTS are committed to addressing the challenges of ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and innovation as the world transitions toward autonomous transportation.

By joining IAMTS, MORAI strengthens its position as a key player in the autonomous mobility industry, helping shape the future of global standards. This collaboration will drive forward the innovation needed to meet regulatory challenges and support the global deployment of autonomous technologies, ultimately making autonomous systems safer and more accessible with the help of AI.

About IAMTS

IAMTS (International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization) is an Austrian association representing the interests of an international community of members that reflects an ecosystem for standardized validation of highly and fully automated vehicles via suitable tools, methods and processes. Through close collaboration of several hundred subject matter experts in all world regions an efficient alignment between the different regulatory frameworks and policies can be achieved. Credibility assessment of digital tool chains, certification of cyberphysical testbeds and standardization of driving scenarios and ODD (operational design domain) features are high priority items in the IAMTS activity roadmap. The long-term goal is the virtual homologation of automated driving systems based on certified digital twins and validated simulation tools. As IAMTS is supported from major Standards Development Organizations such as SAE, IEEE, DIN, ASAM and CATARC, IAMTS plays an important role to accelerate the creation of specifications and standards that help implement international regulatory frameworks to scale the deployment of ADAS and AV systems.
